Eleanor Jackson is a lifelong resident of London Colney and went to school in St Albans. A Civil Engineer with 6+ years of experience working on projects including the Luton DART and Brent Cross West station, and an Incorporated Engineer member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE).
After being disillusioned by the failures of both the Local and County Councils, generalised tick-box agendas being pushed on St Albans targeting the greenbelt and stalling local services, and the noticeable decline in the benefits that St Albans residents are receiving in return for their ever-increasing council tax payments, Eleanor decided to get involved and push for the change she wanted to see.
“St Albans is an area rich in history and green spaces, which must be protected to uphold its character. Consecutive councils have proved themselves to be secretive and inefficient, with St Albans District Council (SADC) failing to audit their books in the last four years, and Hertfordshire County Council relying on reserves to balance their spending. The current model and attitudes within the Councils is not working. St Albans residents deserve transparency, value for their money, and to have their concerns better represented when substantial changes are being imposed on their doorstep.”
