More homes could be coming to Chorleywood's green belt, with early plans being unveiled for up to 100 properties.

Developer Taylor Wimpey has requested that Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment as it eyes a new development on land at Hill Farm in Stag Lane.

As plans are at an early stage the exact number of homes and the housing mix are not known, but the applicant stated it will be "up to 100" properties. Details will likely be revealed when the developer puts in an outline planning application.

A planning statement reads: "The proposed maximum height of the proposed development will be up to three storeys in height. The site will be accessed from Stag Lane and Long Lane.

"A network of internal roads will provide access to the dwellings. Green infrastructure is proposed in the form of planting along the north, east and western boundaries of the site and the woodland in the south of the site will be retained.

"The wildlife pond will also be retained and an attenuation-based Sustainable Drainage System (‘SuDS’) will be incorporated into the layout."

TRDC is already mulling over plans for 333 homes on the nearby Catlips Farm site in Berry Lane. That application looks set to go to planning committee later this year amid more than 100 public objections and criticism from the highways authority.
