Phillip Wells

I’m recently retired, and have avoided any involvement in politics for the bulk of my life. However, a once great country is steadily being ruined by the self-serving political elites that run the Conservative and Labour parties. I joined Reform to do something concrete about it.

For the first half of my career I worked in metals manufacture, often in specialist areas such as tungsten or catalyst production. I have run departments, factories and a small company. Due to the steadily falling size of that industry, I moved into IT, where I’ve worked for a large multi-national software company and the world’s leading cyber security company. Unlike many of our politicians, who studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at university, then tried to get elected as an MP as soon as possible, I’ve lived and worked in the real world – not inhabited the Westminster bubble. Reform stands for practical, real-world solutions, and not gesture politics from politicians who are insulated from the worst effects of the damage they cause. I loathe political spin with a passion, and believe in being honest with voters. There are hard choices ahead, and economic pain. As a country, we can no longer afford to pretend those problems don’t exist – like Labour and the Tories do. We must address them urgently, and I firmly believe Reform’s policies are the best way to do that.
