Herts Road Maintainence

A new highways contract is set to get under way in October 2025,  to improve road maintenance and infrastructure in Hertfordshire.

The Leader of Hertfordshire County Council Steve Jarvis and Cabinet Member for Highways Stephen Giles-Medhurst, met with Ringway earlier this month to re-frame the working relationship and confirm what the new administration expects as the long-term contract begins in October.Ringway will work collaboratively with colleagues from the county council to deliver a Highways service that improves everyday journeys for Hertfordshire residents now and in the future, in the most efficient and customer centric way possible. And councillors will ensure progress against these aims is monitored closely.

Steve Jarvis, leader of Hertfordshire County Council, said: "The new administration has made fixing Hertfordshire’s roads a key priority and we have included some important initial steps in our plan for the first 100 days.

The council plans to monitor progress closely and is open to adopting new approaches to road repairs and maintenance.

Stephen Giles-Medhurst, cabinet member for highways at Hertfordshire County Council, said: "I’m pleased that Ringway are on the same page as the new administration to both improve performance and make savings to see if we can achieve more and improve our roads and footways."

Maybe electing ReformUK Herts councillors with their stalwart attitude of improving the roads and maintenance has put the 'spooks' up the Lib Dems?
